social media
Hello hello,
I get asked, often, if the studio has any social media accounts. Nope. No social media for Indigo (none for me personally, either). Very conscious decision on my part. Yoga is about being present, the practice of getting out of your brain and connecting with your body, authenticity, self awareness etc. Social media is the opposite of all of those things. Numerous studies have shown its negative impacts on the brain and mental health - we all know that, we’ve heard it, read it. Yoga is an antidote, a very effective and accessible one. Wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense for me to be buying into the problem when my business is focused on the remedy, right? That would be hypocritical, and also weird. Im a lot of things, not all virtuous, but I do my best to live and conduct myself and my business from a place of integrity. Does it cost me to not have social media? Am I missing out on all that “free” advertising? Maybe, but for me, the juice isn’t the worth the squeeze. If my business is contingent on my buying into those, what I consider, detrimental platforms- Id rather shut my doors.
So this news page will have to do. This is where I post announcements and schedule changes and anything and everything I find worth sharing. Pretty simple. No likes or ads. No endless scrolling. No filters or pretend. And as you all know, if you need anything at all- questions, concerns, blah blah- you’re welcome to directly email me at indigoyogaellensburg@gmail.com. Im good at returning emails.
