Hatha

A 26 posture sequence practiced in a heated room. Emphasis being on alignment, stress reduction, healing injury, core strength and fat burning while increasing balance, focus and mental clarity.


Ashtanga

A dynamic, flowing style that connects the movement of the body with breath. A vigorous, orderly practice that produces internal heat while detoxifying the body through progressive postures. Builds strength, coordination, flexibility.


Fusion

A blend of Hatha and Ashtanga styles.


Power

Ashtanga methods and breath practice within a flow sequence including a wide variety of strength based postures.


Yin

Relaxing, restful postures mostly done on the floor. The room is candle lit and cozy and props are often used to facilitate relief of tension. Targets connective tissues including fascia, bones, and joints while increasing circulation. Mindful meditation techniques are utilized to release rigidity and restore mobility.

Hatha/Yin Flow

A restorative class that combines the strength and flexibility of the Hatha sequence with the relaxation of Yin.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR MY FIRST CLASS?

Expect to have fun and be challenged, try your best and enjoy the process of learning something new. Go easy and simply follow the teachers instruction.

Please show up 15-30 minutes before class starts to complete paperwork. Showing up early for your first class will give you a chance to acquaint yourself with the studio space and the instructor, giving us an opportunity to answer any additional questions and assure your comfort.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?

Wear lightweight, breathable attire (bike shorts, leggings, active-wear). No shoes or socks are worn in class.

WHAT DO I BRING?

Bring a mat, towel, and a bottle of water. We have mats & towels available for rent if needed.

SHOULD I EAT/DRINK BEFOREHAND?

It’s important to be hydrated. As far as eating- thats very individual. A safe recommendation is to limit eating two hours before class.

WHY ARE SOME CLASSES HEATED?

In a heated room, the body warms up quickly so muscles become more flexible—this allows for a deeper and safer stretch. The heat also aids in detoxifying the body, increasing the heart rate and speeding up the metabolism. Heat creates a soothing atmosphere as well, boosting the mood and generating a sense of relax.
